At Ingreto, celebrating women is about more than marking a date on the calendar. It is about recognising the strength, influence and everyday contributions of the women who form such an integral part of the team. This year, Ingreto’s International Women’s Day celebration brought everyone together around a powerful message printed on the T-shirts handed out to the ladies: “Be it. Do it. Own it.”
Each woman received a branded T-shirt carrying the slogan, a poignant reminder to step confidently into who you are and take pride in what you do. And while the day was dedicated to celebrating women, the men were invited to join in as well. After all, every person has women in their lives who have shaped them in some way. Mothers, grandmothers, wives, sisters, colleagues and friends all play a role worth applauding.
The energy of the day ignited when Riaan van Wyk and Alana Jackson from Line Dancing SA, through Odyssey Entertainment, stepped in to teach the team a line dance. What started as a quick lesson soon turned into a room full of laughter and enthusiastic footwork as colleagues helped each other find the rhythm. Before long, everyone was up on their feet giving it their best shot.
To add a bit of flair to the mix, the instructors also selected a best male dancer and best female dancer from the group. The friendly competition elicited plenty of cheers and applause, and a few impressive dance moves made their appearance too.
After working up an appetite on the dance floor, the team tucked into delicious prego rolls while continuing to chat and enjoy the moment together.
While the dancing and good food made for a memorable afternoon, the message behind the day was simple but meaningful. “Be it. Do it. Own it.” is about embracing who you are, backing yourself and recognising the value you bring to the people around you.
By celebrating together, Ingreto created another moment that was not only fun, but also a reminder that appreciation, encouragement and respect are cornerstones of what makes a workplace truly special.
